Rules Of Grammar: What Are Heteronyms?

Heteronyms are words that are spelled the same, but have different pronunciations and meanings.

Some examples of heteronyms are: number, lead, read, affect, close, bass, dove, does, desert, produce, invalid, present, sewer, wound, wind, row, refuse.
