Tramadol is a man-made (or, synthetic) pain reliever. It binds to the receptors in the brain that are responsible for transmitting pain throughout the body. Tramadol is prescribed to manage moderate to moderately severe pain.

Contracture is the “permanent shortening of a muscle, joint, or tendon so that it cannot be straightened, flexed and extended.” This is usually caused by a spasm, scar, or the paralysis of the contracting muscle.
