Close Captioned Phone Calls

I’m posting this video without endorsing any particular company. I have no experience in directly using this service. However, I think the idea of having captioned phone calls is genius and a great service for those in need of it. This is yet another field that can use the skill of stenographers.

To Drop Or Not To Drop

Here’s a video with advice on how to drop when being tested.

When I started taking speed tests, I didn’t think about this method. My method was always to try to get every word…Different strokes for different folks; literally. Lol.

Everybody has their own methods. However, this video definitely gave me something to think about. I greatly appreciate the speaker’s advice.

Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) Requirements

A registered medical transcriptionist obtains certification via an examination given by the Association For Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). The RMT test consists of a 130-question exam, which is comprised of multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions. There is also a transcription-performance portion of the test, in which dictation must be transcribed and edited.

Upon passing the RMT exam, the credential is valid for 3 years. After three years, the credential can be renewed via a test or attendance of a designated professional course.

Machine Keypads

I found this video on machine keypads. I’ve never tried stacking multiple pads on the vowel keys. Seems like a great idea though.

I don’t think they manufacture the textured-rubber pads that I currently have. I just order some leather ones. I hope they last longer than the rubber ones though. I loved the feel of the rubber ones, but they started to slide after about a month of use.
